KEMPO JUTSU
Code of Safety and Conduct
1. The safety of our students must be the prime driver at all times therefore it is incumbent on all instructors to ensure no student is placed in a position that may be deleterious to them or others.
2. All equipment must be checked for condition prior to use and each student must be given instructions as to the correct method of using same.
3. All instructions must be repeated to ensure each student understands what they are to do.
4. All students must be trained relative to their grade thus ensuring the chance of injury is minimised.
5. All instructors are to ensure that each action is legal, moral and ethical.
6. Children are to be supervised by 2 instructors in each class.
7. Each class must commence with a warm up and cool down that includes stretching, in keeping with the Department of Sport and Recreation’ recommendations.
8. All incidents must be verbally reported to the Chief Instructor immediately they occur and these need to be documented within 24 hours of the incident.
9. Any student that appears impaired, unwell or aged must present a current medical certificate prior to training with Kempo Jutsu.
10. All students are required to pay the annual insurance premium prior to commencing training.
11. No student should be trained if there is evidence of alcohol or drugs of addiction present.
12. No instructor should touch any student, particularly a child or a member of the opposite sex.
13. Our system is not prejudicial towards race, sex, gender, colour or sexual preference.
14. In the event of any dispute what so ever, the decision of the Chief Instructor is final and not for discussion.
15. Each student must have his/her own equipment including, shin pads, groin guards (men only) mouth guard, gloves and Gi. This equipment must be worn at all appropriate times.
16. Sparring students should be matched according to size, weight, sex and skill level.
17. Sparring training should be conducted with limited contact to the body using appropriate protective equipment and no contact to the head.
18. Limited contact sparring is voluntary and only to be undertaken when students have reached a suitable level of skill and control. This is most likely at our blue belt level. Each pair of sparring combatants must be supervised by one instructor.
19. Juniors must never be involved in sparring.
20. Each instructor must be accredited.
21. Infectious Diseases (Blood Procedure)
o All clothing, equipment and surfaces contaminated by blood must be viewed as potentially infectious and treated accordingly.
o Participants who are bleeding must have the wound dressed and securely covered.
o Any blood covered area (and surface area where appropriate), must be cleaned thoroughly and any blood covered clothing and equipment cleaned or removed prior to the participant recommencing the activity.
